Standout success for Sam Dilly

Trescal is delighted to announce that Great Yarmouth based apprentice, Sam Dilly, has been recognised for his outstanding performance in Technical Support by Salford & Trafford Engineering Group Training Association.

Thanks to his hard work and dedication over the last four years, Sam has been presented with a STEGTA Excellence award. A presentation took place on 11 May 2017, where Sam received an award and certificate to mark and celebrate the success of his apprenticeship.

Working at Trescal’s Great Yarmouth facility, Sam first joined the team back in 2013 as an apprentice Calibration Engineer. Showing ambition and a willingness to learn, Sam specialised in temperature calibration whilst studying for his BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Electrical and Electronic engineering, and was awarded a Double Grade Distinction* Distinction, having scored distinction grades in all of his 11 course subjects. As part of the next phase of Sam’s development, he has now commenced a HND course at Norwich City College.

Jim Gunn, branch manager at Trescal Great Yarmouth commented: “Sam has become a key part of the team and it’s been equally rewarding for us to be able to nurture his talent and watch him grow into a confident and knowledgeable engineer.”

Sam said: “The team at Great Yarmouth have been fundamental to the success of my apprenticeship, and this award is not only testament to my dedication, but also to the on-going support and mentoring I’ve received throughout.” He concludes, “The apprenticeship has been extremely valuable and I’ve learnt so much, but to have my hard work recognised is more than I could’ve ever expected.”
