Seminar to focus on key issues in cable testing

Current key issues in the testing of power cables on systems from 11kV to 132kV, recent developments in cable test technology and the particular problems associated with cable testing in offshore applications, are the main focus of the Third UK Cable Test Seminar.

The free of charge seminar is being hosted by SebaKMT, a Megger company, at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham on Wednesday, December 4th 2013. It is open to anyone with a professional interest in power cable testing.

Sessions at the seminar will be presented by some of Europe’s leading experts in cable testing technology, including Peter Herpertz, Product Manager for Power at SebaKMT, Hein Putter, Product Manager Testing and Diagnostics at SebaKMT, and Andrew Barclay from Kinectrics.

All of the presentations will concentrate on the ways in which well-planned and well-executed cable testing regimes, based on the use of the most appropriate technologies, can significantly reduce downtime, disruption and operating costs while greatly enhancing safety for the test technicians and engineers and, in many cases, for the general public.

Booking is essential and early application is strongly advised as demand for places is expected to be high.
