RS opens second local innovation centre with relocation of Heathrow branch

RS Components (RS) has relocated its Heathrow branch from the existing site on the Fairway Trading Estate in Middlesex, London, to a new unit a short distance away at Trade City on the Hayes Road. The opening marks the second branch transformation RS has executed this year, as part of the investment in its branch network offer, having already relocated the Bow branch to Bermondsey in May this year. Branded RS Local, the development brings an innovative product and service offer to support engineers locally across the design, build and maintain phases of the product life cycle.

RS Local sites continue to deliver the same excellent customer experience, fast availability and breadth of products to meet local demand, with added features and benefits including interactive displays and videos to illustrate the value-added services offered to customers. The new branch will have closer links with the M4 and M25.

Emma Botfield, Director of Customer Services, RS Northern Europe said “This is our second relocation: Bermondsey has been a great hit with our customers, suppliers and local community. We’ve implemented learnings from our first RS Local launch in this relocation, and are confident customers will be delighted with the new branch. From RS Local Heathrow, we will deliver the same high level of service RS is renowned for, combined with demonstrations and knowledge on the latest innovations, to able to support our customers in a fast-paced industry.”

RS Heathrow will continue to stock thousands of products to meet local demand, and customers will continue to enjoy the call and collect service.

Mike England, managing director, RS Northern Europe, said: “The evolution of buying behaviour is something RS is in tune with, and we’re committed to supporting with the right offering to make purchasing easy for our customers both online, with click and collect and by a personal ‘walk in’ experience with our RS Local teams. We showcase innovative solutions that will help them meet their varying needs in all stages of their project, and provide technical expertise. We believe this demonstrates our commitment to adding value for our customers and following the opening of our new Bermondsey RS Local earlier this year, we know it’s being very well received.”
