Rotronic UKAS Laboratory has Low Measurement Uncertainty

The UKAS accredited calibration laboratory at Rotronic UK has long made a name for itself in high quality temperature, humidity and dew point calibrations. Following improvements in measurement procedures it now has the lowest measurement uncertainties of any commercial laboratory in northern Europe. A copy of the latest Rotronic UK UKAS scope can be downloaded here.

This is a significant achievement and fully supports the precision temperature, humidity and low dew point instruments manufactured by Rotronic AG in Switzerland. With the combination of low measurement uncertainty and the range of UKAS accredited calibration services available the purpose-built laboratory at Rotronic UK, located close to Gatwick is one of the most advanced commercial facilities in the world.

The ISO 17025 accredited multipoint calibration of any manufacturers’ temperature, humidity and dew point sensors confirms performance across the working range. It is increasingly a requirement of industry regulations and company quality management systems.  The UKAS laboratory manager Chris Aicken spent two years increasing the confidence in the calibrations performed and this resulted in the lowering of the Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC) of the laboratory.

Significant improvements have been made in the measurement procedures for dew point and temperature in air. In the laboratory, relative humidity is derived from complex vapour pressure calculations. Improvements in dew point and temperature in air CMCs therefore have a profound effect on the relative humidity CMCs.

Rotronic UK offers temperature, humidity and dew point calibrations for any manufacturer’s sensors and device types, working daily with many well-known pharmaceutical, food, HVAC and other companies across industry, system integrators, facility management companies, art galleries & museums, research organisations and test houses.

UKAS calibration work is typically completed quickly within 4 – 5 days, more complex calibrations take a little longer. Pricing is very competitive; we can set up a calibration service contract to suit any company’s needs. We would be pleased to discuss your UKAS calibration requirements in detail, please contact us at any time.  T: 01293 571000  E: service@rotronic.co.uk  W: www.rotronic.co.uk
