RHEINTACHO UK, is now celebrating 100 years of business with an interesting history including differing ownership, management buyouts and since the last acquisition by Rheintacho Messtechnik from Freiburg, Germany in 1990, a period of growth and stability has dominated the last 20 years.
Rheintacho is not only growing in terms of staff, but also technologically. The Leeds based company is now the Rheintacho Group’s competence center for intrinsically safe products (ATEX certified) and is now enlarging this ATEX portfolio constantly.
Latest additions are the complete family of eddy current tachometers for use in printing, paper production, refuelling operations, paint and coating productions and more. This also includes 9 different gearboxes to enable almost any connection to a drive shaft. We are continuously developing new products in ATEX versions to further serve the core markets in hazardous areas with instruments, tachometers and stroboscopes which are ATEX certified.
In addition, Rheintacho is the specialist in the production of sensors for detecting, recording, measuring and controlling rotational speed and linear movement and are the benchmark for the industry in quality and reliability. Our range of sensors includes 1 and 2 signal hall sensors of all sizes and different connection options. Our sensors are produced and tested in Germany and extensive development processes and thorough testing ensure long-term performance and reliability. Most sensors are suitable for specific applications and are developed together with our customers to best fit their requirements. The newest trend in our development of sensors is moving us toward multi-functionality, i.e. introducing sensors which not only measure rotational speed, but also detect temperature; one sensor for 2 functions. The advantages of such multi-functional sensors help our customers save money and reduce complexity of their own systems. And multi-functionality does not mean an increase in size, as we understand the market requirements and trends moving towards smaller and smallest solutions in sensors. Our M8, for example, is a small multi-functional sensor for both speed and temperature. And its compact size and intelligent design make it easier for engineers to include it in their product developments as well. And whether it is high pressure, extreme temperatures, multi-functionality, size, or materials, RHEINTACHO has the right option for nearly every application. And even if we don‘t, together with our customers, we develop one to fit.
On top of sensors, RHEINTACHO is a leading manufacturer of both portable and stationary industrial stroboscopes. The newest development is another high-performance handheld device with an auto-synchronisation function to the speed of the moving object called the PocketStrobe LED Laser. There are 6 different handheld strobes with various options and an extensive range of stationary strobes both available with LED or Xenon technology. Rheintacho stroboscopes are among the brightest and most reliable on the market. They are frequently used in the printing industry, paper and pulp production, conveyor applications, painting applications and even in maintenance operations or for medical technology.
Our portfolio of tachometers, including eddy current tachometers and handheld mechanical, optical and digital tachometers is quite extensive offering many different options. Our eddy current tachometers are all ATEX certified for use in hazardous areas including the appropriate gearboxes. Typical applications are found in machines and in measuring the flow of fluids, e.g. refuelling of aircraft. Our handheld tachometers are often used in maintenance operations and we have special options for yarn, wire and welding wire. The mechanical tachometers are also ATEX certified for use in mines or other hazardous areas.
