Maintec 2015 secrets unveiled

Maintec 2015 boasts its strongest ever Business Exchange programme, on its return to Birmingham’s NEC on 24th – 26th March, for its 40th edition. The practical programme of seminars will feature 18 free content-rich talks packed full of advice, new innovations and case studies for visitors to learn from.

Experts from some of the biggest names in the industry will share their knowledge and experience at this year’s Business Exchange. For instance Dean Whittle, training manager at Reliability Maintenance Solutions will discuss how condition monitoring techniques can be utilised to improve the reliability of rotating machinery. He argues that condition monitoring alone does not improve the reliability of machines, and that there are skills and technology available to a condition monitoring engineer which can be utilised in order to improve reliability.

Stephen Donnan, EAM application specialist at Sapphire Systems will explore how technology can maximise organisational maturity and help go beyond simple asset management compliance. Donnan will look closely at the health of assets and will show why taking risks with assets in the long term could lead to burnout, increased downtime and capital expenditure. Those looking to discover more about asset management tools that can help with an organisation’s maturity will not want to miss this talk.

Few would argue that mobile technology is a hot topic for the maintenance industry at the moment, changing the way workers can perform their roles. With this in mind Roy Rothwell, senior consultant at eMaint EMEA will examine the benefits of mobile technology on mission-critical assets. Rothwell will explain that along with increasing efficiency, utilising a mobile CMMS helps organisations better manage maintenance on mission-critical assets, by improving the visibility of asset health and work performed, thus reducing downtime, providing real time updates and improving communication and safety. For those weighing up the CMMS options available, in his talk, David Hipkin, group managing director at SoftSols Group, will outline the ‘Top 10 questions to ask in your CMMS search’

Kamran Gharachorlou from SMMT is using The Business Exchange to present ‘Can Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Ever Be Successfully Implemented, Without Adopting the JIPM Approach?’ During his talk Gharachorlou will address three key points: Can TPM be implemented without having to fully adopt the JIPM approach? What is The JIPM approach and how does it differ from the other methods? How can you select the right approach for your organisation?

David Andrews, senior surveyor at General Surveyor will take a look at roof maintenance and the safety management on modern industrial and commercial roofs. During his talk Andrews will simplify roof maintenance and inspection management and show how to manage responsibilities through a straightforward task list diary.

In addition to The Business Exchange, Maintec 2015 will also feature The Business Strategy Forum, with educational sessions from expert speakers and major industry names. There will also be a full exhibition hall packed with international names and suppliers from right across the maintenance spectrum.

Maintec 2015 is co-located with Facilities Management – the UK’s only event for the facilities industry outside London plus The Health & Safety Event and Easyfairs’ new show, Cleaning 2015, which is focused on buyers and suppliers from within the cleaning industry. Maintec attendees can attend all four shows through the one badge.
