The sapphire substrate allows the sensor to operate over a very wide temperature range without loss of performance due to its outstanding insulation properties. The SOS sensor element is then bonded to a titanium diaphragm instead of traditional stainless steel. High overpressures, very low hysteresis and great corrosion resistance are the result.
