DJB Instruments signs major USA distributor agreement

DJB Instruments has announced another significant step in its ongoing expansion in export sales markets. Following the opening of the office in Asia late in 2018, the company can now announce it has signed an exclusive distributor agreement covering North America.

The agreement with Skorchtek LLC, who are DJB’s approved calibration partner for the USA region, provides a base to develop and grow DJB’s business in North America. Historically DJB have worked with regional distributors which has limited the exposure of the company’s product range, the new structure will mean Skorchtek can establish and manage a stronger and more widespread representative network throughout the USA. The exclusivity given to Skorchtek also provides the security for a significant investment in time and money to build the brand and sales quickly.

DJB Instruments developed the unique Konic Shear design for accelerometers back in the 1970’s and this remains the cornerstone of their accelerometer technology today. They also retain a number of other unique products that have already proven popular with US based companies, such as the water-cooled accelerometer for exhaust and turbo testing, which is capable of testing products with surface temperatures up to 1652°F (900°C).

DJB’s Managing Director, Neill Ovenden confirmed further developments are also planned for the USA….”The agreement with Skorchtek forms part of a longer term strategic development plan for the US market, both companies are working towards a much bigger and comprehensive position in the USA. The DJB brand has more than 45 years of history and this is an exciting new step for the company.”

Andy Cogbill, Skorchtek’s President went on to say ‘We firmly believe there is huge potential for DJB in the USA, we have already seen how competitive the products can be and there is a desire for something new from US customers which can also be supported by strong technical innovation and customer service, two things DJB excel at.’

DJB stock will shortly be available direct in the USA for quick delivery, particularly for cables and accessories which customers often require within 24 to 48 hours.
